Arts and Education Network: South East Wales

The Arts and Education Network: South East Wales is a network of teachers, arts practitioners, and educators from arts and cultural organisations based, or operating in, the South East region of Wales in the counties of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. Membership is free and you can join today.

The network:

  1. Organises a programme of high quality professional development for teachers, artists, and arts organisations,
  2. Creates digital and face-to-face networking opportunities for those in the arts and education sectors,
  3. Connects schools with artists and arts, creative, cultural and heritage organisations, acting as a broker,
  4. Collects information on the regional arts offer and publicises examples of best practice,
  5. Delivers an Arts Champions programme – a team of arts mentors who can support teachers developing arts projects.

@BrimbleGaynor @EAS Yes, we used an @ArtEdNetSEWales grant to fund @clairecawte to train TAs and work with children to investigate eco dyeing and 'plant-bashing' (there's a technical term for this). Children brought in plants and flowers, interesting activities developed lots of skills.
